The 8 Third-Generation IITs
Established in 2015-2016, these newer institutes are continuously expanding their infrastructure and academic offerings.
There are currently 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) located across India, which are recognized as premier public engineering and research institutions. They are centrally funded by the Ministry of Education and admit students primarily through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) for undergraduate courses.
